Rock band releases first album in a decade: Fans shocked
A beloved rock group is making a comeback with their first new album in a decade. Finger Eleven, famous for their hit song “Paralyzer” in 2007, released “Last Night on Earth” recently, marking their first full-length album since 2015’s “Five Crooked Lines.”
Lead vocalist Scott Anderson expressed his disbelief at the lengthy gap between albums during an interview with radio station Z93 (WKQZ-FM). Anderson attributed the delay to the band members’ busy personal lives as fathers and husbands, making remote recording efforts unsuccessful. Finger Eleven previously rented studios for a couple of months to produce albums, but this time, there was no set deadline for “Last Night on Earth.” Working with drummer Steve Molella, who also served as the producer, at his residence allowed the band to continuously refine and perfect their new material until completion.
The extended production process, while detrimental to their professional careers, was crucial for maintaining high musical quality, promised Anderson. With decades of experience in the music industry, Finger Eleven originated in the 1990s as Rainbow Butt Monkeys before evolving into their current identity in 1997. The band garnered a dedicated fan base through relentless touring, appearances on major music festivals like Warped Tour and K-Rockathon, and supporting renowned musicians such as Nickelback and Evanescence.
Their breakthrough came in 2003 with the chart-topping single “One Thing” in Canada, followed by the international success of “Paralyzer” from their Juno Award-winning album “Them vs. You vs. Me” in 2007. Reflecting on their enduring career, Anderson acknowledged the band’s good fortune in sustaining a steady music career and pursuing their passion. Finger Eleven’s upcoming tour dates for 2026, including performances in the U.S., Canada, and the UK with Filter, are already generating buzz amongst fans eagerly anticipating their return to the stage. The band members are grateful for the continued support and the opportunity to create music together, ensuring that the dream they set out to achieve is still very much alive.
