Billy F. Gibbons, a well-known ’80s music icon from ZZ Top, has been gracing the rock ‘n’ roll scene since 1969. However, his passion for music goes beyond the boundaries of ZZ Top. In the past decade, he has dedicated his free time to various side projects, notably his band, the BFGs. The BFGs, featuring prominent musicians like Chris “Ripper” Layton and Mike “The Drifter” Flanigin, are embarking on a tour that will bring them to Plymouth Memorial Hall on February 11.

Plymouth Memorial Hall, situated at 83 Court Street in downtown Plymouth, will host the BFGs show starting at 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $56 to $145, and there are exclusive VIP and meet-and-greet packages available. To find out more information or purchase tickets, interested fans can visit spectaclelive.com or call 1-800-657-8774.

The BFGs tour kicked off in mid-January, and Gibbons graciously agreed to answer a few questions about the tour and his music career via email. Gibbons, along with band members Dusty Hill and Frank Beard, founded ZZ Top with the intention of creating the type of roadhouse blues-rock that resonated with their musical tastes. Before ZZ Top, Gibbons was part of Moving Sidewalks, a band that delved into the psychedelic side of rock, drawing inspiration from artists like Roky Erickson.

Gibbons is looking forward to showcasing his musical prowess alongside his talented bandmates at Plymouth Memorial Hall. The lineup, comprising the acclaimed drummer Chris “Ripper” Layton and the versatile organist/bassist Mike “The Drifter” Flanigin, promises a night filled with electrifying performances and soulful melodies. The synergy among the band members, each bringing their unique experiences to the table, is expected to create an unforgettable experience for concert attendees.

With a storied career spanning decades, Gibbons continues to captivate audiences with his unwavering passion for music. His dedication to exploring different musical avenues, from ZZ Top’s classic hits to the innovative sounds of the BFGs, showcases his versatility as an artist. As the BFGs tour progresses, fans can anticipate an evening of rock ‘n’ roll magic that pays homage to Gibbons’ illustrious career and enduring musical legacy.
