Events, new merchandise, and more to commemorate the 80th birthday of late AC/DC frontman Bon Scott

The 80th birthday of legendary AC/DC frontman Bon Scott is being commemorated with various events, merchandise releases, and exclusive content. The Bon Scott estate, in partnership with Perryscope Productions, has unveiled plans to celebrate the milestone.

To honor Bon Scott’s legacy, the official Scott YouTube channel will feature new video content in collaboration with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Additionally, exclusive interviews with Scott’s friends and peers, such as Sammy Hagar, Anthrax’s Scott Ian, and Rick Springfield, will be shared.

Various events paying tribute to Bon Scott are in the pipeline, including the 20th anniversary Bonfest: The International Bon Scott Rock Festival scheduled for May 1-2 in Kirriemuir, Scotland, and the third annual Bon’s Birthday Bash in New York on July 6. Moreover, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will host a one-night-only screening of the AC/DC concert film “Let There Be Rock: The Movie.”

Fans can also expect a range of merchandise releases throughout the year. Limited-edition collectibles like 1-ounce gold and 10-ounce silver bars featuring Scott’s name and likeness will be available from the Perth Mint. Exclusive artwork by graphic artist Reg Mombassa will be featured on posters, T-shirts, and more. Knucklebonz will release a third Bon Scott edition collectible inspired by AC/DC’s 1978 Powerage tour.

In terms of apparel, a variety of limited-edition T-shirts will be offered, including a Bon 80 shirt and a “heritage” Tartan shirt from Dixxon Flannel Co, designed based on the officially registered Bon Scott tartans.
