Arlo Parks has recently dropped her new single, ‘Get Go,’ as a sneak peek into her upcoming album, Ambiguous Desire, set to be released on April 3rd by Transgressive Records. The track, premiered on BBC Radio 1 as the Hottest Record, showcases Arlo’s mastery in combining her poetic lyricism with energetic London pirate radio-inspired breakbeats, celebrating the rebel spirit of the airwaves while narrating the tale of someone giving in to the allure of the night.

In addition to ‘Get Go,’ the album will also feature previous singles like ‘Heaven’ and ‘2SIDED,’ each contributing to a different facet of the club experience that Arlo aims to capture. The songs paint a vivid picture of the enigmatic characters only visible in the night, encapsulating the feelings of melancholic euphoria that resonate throughout the record. As Arlo describes it, ‘Get Go’ embodies the healing power of the dance floor, a place to find solace, self-discovery, and insights into one’s relationship with love.

Gathering critical acclaim, Arlo Parks’ forthcoming album announcement was accompanied by the release of ‘2SIDED,’ which she debuted live on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The track has already become a favorite on BBC Radio 6 Music and BBC Radio 1, where it was named Tune of the Week. Arlo’s recent venture into hosting her own show on NTS Radio offered a glimpse into the sonic influences shaping this new era of her music.

Ambiguous Desire reflects Arlo’s deep dive into the nocturnal world, drawing inspiration from a variety of influences ranging from NYC’s Paradise Garage to British beats and house grooves. Her music transforms live band sessions into a fusion of modular synths, Ableton plugins, and samplers, capturing the vibrant energy of the spaces she’s explored while highlighting the poignant lyricism she’s known for.

Under the production of Baird, Arlo Parks crafted the album in a collaborative process that straddled vibrant nights in NYC’s community-oriented scene with introspective days at a downtown loft. The result is a raw, self-affirming, and euphoric collection of songs that mark a new chapter in Arlo’s artistic journey.

With two Grammy nominations, a Mercury Music Prize win, Breakthrough Artist recognition at the Brit Awards, and Ivor Novello Award nominations under her belt, Arlo Parks has solidified her stature as a poet and performer. Alongside music, she has also showcased her talent through her debut book, The Magic Border, a poetry collection interwoven with exclusive images and lyrics from her albums.

Set to tour globally, Arlo Parks will play at intimate UK record store shows and headline her own tour with a special support performance with David Byrne in Ireland this June. The tour includes an array of dates across various cities in the USA, Canada, and the UK, promising fans an unforgettable experience of Arlo’s evocative music and captivating performances.
