Collective Soul gives Kirby Center a boost with rock hits

The electrifying energy of opening rock band Plush, consisting of Moriah Formica, Ashley Suppa, and Faith Powell, set the tone for the evening. Collecting Soul took the stage at 9 p.m. and kicked off their set with “Counting the Days,” with hits like “Shine” keeping the audience on their feet and singing along.
The band, featuring members Ed and Dean Roland, Will Turpin, Johnny Rabb, and Jesse Triplett, had the crowd rocking throughout the night. Singer Ed Roland, engaging with the audience, inquired about the pronunciation of “Wilkes-Barre,” involving a city native on drums, much to the delight of the fans. Following their performance, the announcement of a new album for Record Store Day, titled “Touch and Go,” added to the excitement. The album, boasting 10 songs, will be available as a 180-gram colored vinyl with a 12×24 poster, a must-have for dedicated fans of Collective Soul. To further enhance the adrenaline-fueled night, the band revealed their tour dates running until September 13, ensuring fans have ample opportunities to catch them live in action.
