U2 Introduce Easter Lily for Upcoming Album | X-Rock 103.9

U2 has recently introduced their latest six-song EP named Easter Lily, marking another productive period for the band. In connection with the EP’s release, U2 revealed that this project is a follow-up to March’s Days of Ash and includes a fresh collaboration with Brian Eno. The band noted that Easter Lily is a collection of more introspective and personal songs.

The first track of the EP, Song for Hal, serves as a tribute to the late Hal Willner, a dear friend and producer who passed away in 2020. Bono mentioned that the title Easter Lily pays homage to Patti Smith’s 1978 album Easter, which deeply impacted him during his teenage years. The EP concludes with Coexist (I Will Bless the Lord at All Times?), a track produced by Eno and crafted with the intent of addressing families with children in conflict zones.

Accompanying the release of Easter Lily is a definitive digital version of the band’s longstanding Propaganda zine, which encompasses personal notes, essays, photographs, and lyrics. These two EPs from 2026 are laying the groundwork for a forthcoming full-length album anticipated to launch later in the year, with U2 currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on it.
