Shania Twain, the iconic Canadian country-pop star, is taking a nostalgic trip back to her roots with the announcement of her seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, and its raw lead single, Dirty Rosie. Due for release on July 24, the album promises to showcase the most authentic version of Twain yet, delving into the pivotal experiences that shaped her into one of the most renowned crossover artists in country music.
Raised in Timmins, Ontario, Twain reveals that Little Miss Twain is a reflection of her formative years, drawing inspiration from the rock and R&B music that captivated her during her youth, all while maintaining her signature Western charm. This forthcoming album follows the successful comeback of Twain’s career after a 15-year hiatus, marked by the release of new music in 2017 with Now and continued with Queen of Me in 2023.
To set the stage for the album release, Twain will be hitting the road this spring, gracing the stage as an opener for Harry Styles during his residency at London’s Wembley Stadium for a 12-night run. Additionally, she will be headlining a show in Limerick city, Ireland, giving fans a taste of her new music in a live setting.
The lead single, Dirty Rosie, captures Twain in a dive-bar country-rock atmosphere, showcasing a grittier side as she warns a lover that while they may be able to drive her crazy and even drive her Mercedes, they will never be able to “drive my truck.” This track sets the tone for what promises to be a deeply introspective and self-referential album in the form of Little Miss Twain.
Twain shares a glimpse into her past, stating, “Where I’m from you don’t go anywhere on a horse – you go on a snowmobile.
