Staind Completes Ninth Album, Set for Early 2027 Release
Staind has completed work on their ninth studio album, set for release in early 2027. This new album comes after their previous release, Confessions Of The Fallen, which debuted in September 2023 through Alchemy Recordings/BMG.
During an interview at the Sonic Temple festival in Columbus, Ohio, guitarist Mike Mushok announced the completion of the new album. Mushok mentioned in a radio interview that the album won’t be released this year, extending the anticipation for fans eager to hear the new music.
The upcoming album will continue to explore the electronic sounds that were introduced in Confessions Of The Fallen, the band’s first studio album in twelve years, produced by Erik Ron. Mike Mushok shared in an interview with Audio Ink Radio that the band plans to continue in this direction with their new music, stating, “I do think that that’s gonna happen. Yeah, definitely. In fact, there’s some new music kicking around, and it’s definitely still kind of following that same vein a bit.”
Since their debut in 1995, Staind has released a total of eight albums, including the self-titled album in 2011. Their 2001 album, Break The Cycle, reached No. 1 on the Billboard chart and received five-times-platinum certification. Hit singles such as “It’s Been Awhile” also dominated the charts, spending 20 weeks at No. 1 on modern rock radio.
Two more Staind albums, 14 Shades Of Grey and Chapter V, also reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The band’s collection of hits includes tracks like “Fade”, “For You”, “Price to Pay”, “So Far Away”, and “Right Here”.
Confessions Of The Fallen reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Active Rock Album chart, with singles “Lowest In Me” and “Here And Now” both claiming the No. 1 spot on the Active Rock Chart.
Staind recently announced the Break The Cycle 25th Anniversary Tour, scheduled to begin in September. The tour will include 25 dates across the U.S. and Canada, with Seether as direct support, and Hoobastank and Hinder as opening acts. The tour will conclude in Dallas, Texas. All tour dates can be found on the band’s website.
