New Call of Duty Modern Warfare Game Trailer Now Available on YouTube
Activision has teased an imminent reveal of the next installment in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare series through a video posted on the official Call of Duty YouTube channel. The footage appears to showcase urban Korea as a potential setting for this new game. Additionally, the video feed displays a banner on the left side featuring a series of numbers, including 26-06-07, which coincides with the date of Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on June 7, 2026. Another set of numbers, 04-13-26, spells out DMZ, which could refer to Call of Duty’s extraction mode.
While details are scarce, the release of this video today, May 28, suggests that a full reveal is on the horizon. Fans are left to speculate whether this upcoming game will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, as developer Infinity Ward has already confirmed that this year’s title will be a new addition to the Modern Warfare series.
Infinity Ward’s latest tweet stated, “Yes, we are making the definitive Modern Warfare,” which has fueled rumors about the possibility of Modern Warfare 4. Moreover, it has been revealed that the upcoming game will not be available on last-gen consoles, signifying a full transition to the current generation consoles – PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
One lingering question is whether the new Call of Duty game will be released on the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. There were talks of a collaboration between Activision and Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to the Switch, but previous attempts for 2025’s Black Ops 7 did not materialize. In February 2023, Microsoft announced a 10-year agreement to launch Call of Duty simultaneously on Xbox and Nintendo platforms with identical features and content. This move was part of Microsoft’s strategy to secure their acquisition of Activision Blizzard amidst regulatory challenges. The decision aimed to assure gamers of Call of Duty’s availability on multiple platforms, emphasizing accessibility.
Interestingly, this year’s Call of Duty will not debut on Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service, on its launch day. The new Xbox boss, Asha Sharma, has decided to withhold new Call of Duty titles from Game Pass initially, with plans to introduce them a year later. This strategy aligns with broader efforts to redefine the brand’s identity in the eyes of dedicated fans.
As anticipation builds for this year’s Call of Duty release, Infinity Ward has announced new co-studio heads leading up to the game’s launch. Jack O’Hara and Mark Grigsby, who bring significant experience in production and animation, respectively, are poised to steer the development of this highly-anticipated title.
Fans eagerly await the full reveal of the upcoming Call of Duty game and are bracing themselves for an immersive, next-gen experience in the acclaimed Modern Warfare series. The hints and teases provided by Activision offer a glimpse into what is shaping up to be an exciting addition to the iconic franchise.
