The 77th Tokeidai Salon featuring ‘Let’s Ask the Faculty of Agriculture’ to be held this Sunday
The upcoming 77th Tokeidai Salon titled “Let’s Ask the Faculty of Agriculture” is just around the corner. This seminar is set to take place in Sapporo City, and it is an event that many agricultural enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to attending. The Faculty of Agriculture, Graduate School of Agriculture, and Research Faculty of Agriculture at Hokkaido University have come together to organize this exciting event, which will be held at the iconic Sapporo Clock Tower, also known as the Former Sapporo Agricultural College Drill Hall.
One of the highlights of this fiscal year’s event is the introduction of a “Perfect Attendance Award.” This award is aimed at participants who attend the salons scheduled for April, June, October, and December, and possess an attendance card for verification. Those in possession of an attendance card are encouraged to bring it along. However, the event is open to first-time participants as well, so everyone is welcome to join in on the agricultural discourse that will take place during the seminar.
As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of our university’s founding in 2026, what better way to mark this occasion than by attending a lecture at the historic Clock Tower? The event promises to be both insightful and engaging, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to learn from esteemed speakers in the field of agriculture.
The Tokeidai Salon will feature two distinguished lecturers who will share their expertise on critical agricultural topics. Mr. Masahiro Akimoto, an Associate Professor from the Environmental and Agricultural Science Research Division at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, will delve into “The Potential of Hokkaido Agriculture Amidst Climate Change.” Additionally, Mr. Kaisuke Fujino, a Former Professor from the Research Faculty of Agriculture at the Graduate School of Agriculture, Hokkaido University, will explore the question, “Will Tartary Buckwheat Become the Savior of Abandoned Farmland?” These presentations are sure to shed light on pressing issues facing the agricultural sector today.
The event is free of charge, making it accessible to a wide range of individuals who are interested in agriculture. The venue for the seminar is the Sapporo Clock Tower Hall 2F, providing a fitting backdrop for the discussions that will unfold during the event. The organizers of the Tokeidai Salon are none other than Hokkaido University, a leading institution in the field of agriculture.
As with any event, details are subject to change, so it is advisable to stay updated by visiting the official website of the event organizer for the latest information. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with industry experts, gain valuable insights, and be a part of the vibrant agricultural community at the Tokeidai Salon.
