It’s Time to Celebrate on the Beach – Hell Gate

Beach Week has been an absolute blast at Hell Gate, and we’re excited to extend the fun to Rockaway Beach for the next two evenings. Partnering with the Shea Stadium booking collective, we are hosting a vibrant concert series at the burger shack Rippers on the shores of Rockaways. The event is absolutely free, so make sure to join us tonight and tomorrow, beginning at 5 p.m. for some incredible live music performances.

Starting off the entertainment tonight is Evan Wright, a talented folk-country singer and producer hailing from Brooklyn. His 2021 album, “Sound From Out The Window,” has captured audiences with its hypnotic melodies. Following Wright is Wendy Eisenberg, known for their jazz-folk guitar skills, backed by bassist Trevor Dunn and drummer Ryan Sawyer. Eisenberg’s self-titled album has received critical acclaim, making them a mainstay in New York’s experimental music scene.

Headlining the Friday night show will be Steve Gunn, a prolific folk singer-songwriter with a mesmerizing voice and guitar skills. Fans may recognize Gunn from his recent album releases, “Music for Writers” and “Daylight Daylight,” both of which showcase his musical versatility and talent.

The party isn’t over yet! Return to Rippers on Saturday evening for more entertainment. The evening kicks off with Pets, a new Brooklyn lounge pop project, bringing their unique sound with synths and saxophones. Foyer Red, a Brooklyn party rock band, will follow, leading the way for Quemarlo Todo Por Error, a band with mathy and dreamy influences from Brooklyn and Colombia. Quemarlo has even released a new song, “Reloj,” today, so make sure to give it a listen.

As the night progresses, enjoy some soulful vinyl DJing courtesy of Marc Myst before Discovery Zone takes the stage. Discovery Zone will wrap up two fantastic nights of live music, creating a fusion of Hell Gate, Shea Stadium, and Rippers magic. Join us for an unforgettable experience of indie pop and vibrant performances.
