The Rolling Stones are celebrating the release of their 25th studio album, “Foreign Tongues,” by launching a new gaming experience on the popular platform, Roblox. This new game is designed to engage both creators and a younger demographic of fans, offering them a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the band’s six-decade legacy of rock-and-roll history. Starting on Friday, July 10, Roblox users can explore “The Block,” the platform’s official visual music and entertainment venue, to participate in a game that reflects the Stones’ 60-year career.

To bring this project to life, the Stones collaborated with more than a dozen creators from Roblox’s global creative community to develop new versions of the band’s iconic tongue-and-lips logo. These designs will showcase different decades of the band’s musical journey within the game, leading up to a three-day digital concert experience from July 17-19. The player rewards, powers, and experiences in the game are all crafted to represent key moments in the band’s extensive discography.

In addition to the in-game content, the creator-made logos will also be available for purchase as physical and digital merchandise for both Roblox users and their in-game avatars. According to Jessica Meehan, Roblox’s head of music partnership, this collaboration aims to introduce the Rolling Stones’ legacy to multiple generations of fans, bridging the gap between past and present through the immersive gaming experience.

This isn’t the first time the Rolling Stones have explored the intersection of commerce and gaming on Roblox. Back in 2024, the band took over Universal Music Group’s “Beat Galaxy” music hub, following in the footsteps of other music legends like Cher, Lady Gaga, and Elton John. With Roblox boasting an impressive 380 million monthly active users, a majority of whom are under 18, The Block has emerged as a popular destination for artists looking to connect with a younger audience.

Having already attracted over 43 million visits, The Block has hosted virtual live shows and Q&As featuring a diverse lineup of artists, including Billie Eilish, Laufey, and Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters. By leveraging the platform’s reach and engaging gameplay mechanics, the Rolling Stones are not only reaching their existing fan base but also tapping into the next generation of music enthusiasts through this innovative collaboration with Roblox.
