Hanroro set to perform at Summer Sonic festival in Japan
Singer-songwriter Hanroro is about to realize a long-held ambition by taking the stage at ‘Summer Sonic 2026’, one of Japan’s most significant music festivals. The rising artist will be gracing the Pacific Stage at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo on August 14, as part of this year’s eagerly awaited Summer Sonic roster.
This upcoming performance is a major milestone for Hanroro. Reflecting on her opening act for Coldplay’s Seoul concerts the previous year, she expressed her desire to perform at major international festivals someday. “I’d really love to perform at international music festivals,” she stated. “It’s good to dream big, like Fuji Rock Festival or Summer Sonic.”
With this opportunity at Summer Sonic, Hanroro is turning her dreams into reality, further solidifying her reputation as one of Korea’s most promising young singer-songwriters. This year has already proven to be highly successful for the artist. Hanroro was honored as Musician of the Year at the prestigious Korean Music Awards, often likened to Korea’s version of the Grammys. Additionally, she was chosen as South Korea’s representative for YouTube’s 2026 Foundry, a global artist development initiative by the platform.
