Squid Pisser release latest single “Fart F***** F*** Face”
Los Angeles-based hardcore and noise group Squid Pisser has recently unveiled their latest single, titled “Fart F***** F*** Face.” This track is part of their upcoming EP, Throat Slave, set to be released on August 28 via Skin Graft Records and Sweatband Records. Fronted by Tommy Meehan, also known as Grodius Maximus to GWAR enthusiasts, Squid Pisser continuously pushes the boundaries with their unique blend of hardcore, industrial, noise rock, and electronic elements in this new release.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Baxter Yogurt (Meehan) shares, “Our new single delves into the consequences of living a life in pretense. Suppressing your true self doesn’t erase those underlying emotions; instead, it can manifest into anger, bitterness, and animosity towards individuals who dare to live authentically. The essence of the song lies in self-trust and the refusal to conform to societal norms, emphasizing the importance of being true to oneself rather than succumbing to the pressures of playing a role.”
The EP, Throat Slave, serves as the follow-up to their 2024 release, Dreams of Puke, and includes five fresh tracks, six remixes, and an opening track. Squid Pisser aims to explore themes revolving around identity, manipulation, paranoia, and self-empowerment through this installment, further expanding their musical repertoire with a focus on groove, ambiance, and dynamic songwriting.
Yogurt further elaborates on the EP, stating, “Throat Slave is a compilation of songs that revolve around safeguarding one’s identity against external influences, be it individuals, societal norms, toxic behaviors, or one’s own inner demons urging them to stay within their comfort zone. Each song narrates the perpetual conflict between self-assertiveness and surrender, highlighting the essence of recognizing and rejecting falsehoods. The ultimate message conveys the significance of steering clear from becoming subservient to external pressures.”
The Throat Slave tracklist includes a mix of tracks such as “Prison,” “Leeches,” “Mucus,” “Rats,” and “Tumors” on Side A, while Side B features remixes of the same tracks by various artists like Plack Blague Leather, Drumcorps, FARTBARF, and more. Squid Pisser is scheduled to embark on the “Tumors Across America Tour” next month, followed by a three-date stint supporting The Dillinger Escape Plan in the fall.
The “Tumors Across America Tour” will kick off on August 19 in Long Beach, CA, with stops in Sacramento, Petaluma, Palmdale, Cottonwood, Silver City, El Paso, Austin, Houston, New Orleans, Birmingham, Atlanta, and several other cities before concluding in Sioux Falls, SD. Following the tour, Squid Pisser will join The Dillinger Escape Plan for shows in Portland, Vancouver, and Seattle in late October.
Squid Pisser’s latest single and EP offer a glimpse into their unique musical style and thematic exploration, promising an intense and immersive experience for fans of hardcore, noise rock, and industrial music. Stay tuned for more updates and be sure to catch them live on their upcoming tours.
