Slipknot’s New Bestselling Release Does Not Include Album Preview

Fans of the band Slipknot were thrilled when the group released a new track titled “Arsenal,” ending a four-year hiatus from the charts. Although the song became a bestseller in the United Kingdom, it is not a preview of their upcoming eighth album.

Guitarist Jim Root clarified that “Arsenal” is a standalone track and will not be featured on their forthcoming album. Despite not being one of their biggest hits, it debuted at No. 73 on the Official Singles Downloads chart and No. 82 on the Official Singles Sales tally in the UK.

This marks Slipknot’s eighth appearance on the Official Singles Sales chart and eleventh on the Official Singles Downloads ranking. While the sales chart performance of “Arsenal” is not their strongest, it set a new low for the band. On the other hand, the song had no impact on their previous lowest-ranking track, “Yen,” which peaked at the bottom of the downloads chart.

The release of “Arsenal” also ended Slipknot’s four-year drought from the charts, with their last hit being “The Dying Song (Time to Sing)” in July 2022. The band achieved success with their previous tracks “Duality,” which moved up to No. 29 on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart, showcasing their enduring popularity and longevity in the music industry.

Despite the success of “Arsenal,” Slipknot faced tough competition from one of hard rock’s biggest acts, preventing them from reaching the top position on the charts. As fans eagerly await the band’s upcoming album, “Arsenal” serves as a satisfying taste of what’s to come while maintaining Slipknot’s relevance and status as a prominent force in the rock music scene.
