Alkimia Entertainment is currently working on a remake of the classic RPG, Gothic, and has recently unveiled a 22-minute uninterrupted gameplay video. The footage, released through IGN, provides a glimpse into various aspects of the game, including combat and character interaction. The description of the video specifies that it was captured at 4K resolution with the highest graphical settings on a PC equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 GPU.
The video kicks off with a leisurely conversation between the protagonist and Diego, followed by a descent into mines to face creatures like mole rats. Similar to the original game, the Gothic remake offers rewards for exploration in the form of new items and gear. Upon exiting the mines, the protagonist navigates a dilapidated path along a hillside and encounters a hunter named Drax. A deal is struck with Drax, promising assistance with a hunt in exchange for a camping spot.
One of the standout features highlighted in the gameplay video is the unforgiving combat of Gothic. Players must approach battles cautiously as a single misstep can lead to swift death. The video also sheds light on the game’s focus on sociopolitical dynamics, demanding players to navigate alliances carefully and seek guidance from seasoned combatants to progress effectively.
