NUNCHUKKA SUPERFLY, a musical endeavor led by Hard-Ons Blackie and Ray, is unveiling a new music video through Vive Le Rock! The track “What’s Ya Week Like” is a sneak peek from their much-anticipated seventh album, “If You Go Down I Go Down Too.” This album marks their return after four years and introduces a new drummer, John Banicevic, to the band.
Working at Parliament studios under the guidance of Lachlan Mitchell, the group aimed to push their boundaries with this release. Blackie expressed his pride in this seventh album, emphasizing its progressive rock elements. Reflecting on their musical journey, Blackie acknowledged their roots in classic rock before delving into punk, now incorporating the prog rock they once missed out on. Despite their punk rock reputation, the band draws inspiration from bands like YES, King Crimson, and Genesis, infusing their music with elements of space-rock and post-punk, among others. This album, according to Blackie, reflects their current creative space, humorously labeling themselves as “shitty punks trying to play prog.”
The accompanying video for “What’s Ya Week Like” is a creation of Jonathan Sequeira, known for his work on documentaries like “The Most Australian Band Ever” featuring Hard-Ons and “Descent Into The Maelstrom” about Radio Birdman.

In addition to this exciting release, the Hard-Ons, alongside guest frontman Jerry A from Poison Idea, are embarking on a US tour with Napalm Death and The Melvins starting next month. The tour kicks off in Minneapolis and covers various cities including Denver, Seattle, Portland, and Berkeley.
