U2 fans, get ready for some exciting news! The Edge recently hinted at the possibility of a new U2 single dropping soon. In a recent appearance on the Sodajerk on Songwriting podcast, The Edge mentioned that there might be some new music on the horizon and that the band is in a great creative space.

The guitarist shared that he has been working on a lot of material and has been presenting finished lyrics to his bandmates, Bono, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. This disciplined approach to songwriting has been beneficial in identifying which ideas have the most potential for U2’s next project.

But that’s not all – The Edge also dropped hints about the band potentially hitting the road for some shows in the near future. U2 fans have been eagerly awaiting a chance to see the band live again, especially after their last live performance before the pandemic and the release of the single “Atomic City” in 2023.

While U2 has been focusing on archive projects, like the reimagining of their back catalogue and the recent re-packaging of “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb,” it seems like new music is definitely on the horizon. The Edge described the new material as “some crazy kind of sci-fi Irish folk music” and mentioned collaborating with talented Irish musicians and longtime collaborator Brian Eno.

So, U2 fans, get ready to potentially hear some fresh tunes and catch the band live in concert soon!
