Indie-rock band Rilo Kiley is preparing for an exciting return to the stage with their first tour in 17 years. The band, consisting of Jenny Lewis, Blake Sennett, Pierre de Reeder, and Dave Rock, made the announcement following their performances at the Just Like Heaven festival in Pasadena, California, and the Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City.

In a nostalgic Instagram post, Rilo Kiley shared a tour poster featuring a throwback photo, capturing the essence of their upcoming musical journey. The tour, set to kick off in San Luis Obispo, California, at the Fremont Theatre on May 5, will include stops in Phoenix, Vancouver, and other cities across the western U.S. and Canada, culminating in Portland at McMenamins Grand Lodge on May 23.

“We’re really excited for this tour, it’s like rediscovering a part of ourselves,” Lewis expressed in a press release. “It feels like going back to a time when everything was possible, just us in a van with a map, working on new music together. It doesn’t get any better than that, back when it was just us against the world.”

Aside from the tour, Rilo Kiley also revealed plans to reissue their groundbreaking album “The Execution of All Things.” The special edition, titled “The Execution of All Things (Frozen Lake Edition),” is scheduled for release on April 25 through Saddle Creek.

With their formation in 1998 in Los Angeles, Rilo Kiley quickly made a name for themselves with the release of their debut album “Take-Offs and Landings” in 2001, followed by “The Execution of All Things” in 2002 and “More Adventurous” in 2004. The band also released several EPs before their 2007 album “Under the Blacklight.”

The band’s return marks a significant moment for fans who have been eagerly anticipating their reunion. As they embark on this new chapter and prepare to share their music with audiences once again, Rilo Kiley’s tour promises to be a nostalgic and enchanting experience for both the band members and their devoted supporters.
