The main feature, “Elemental,” will commence at 7 p.m. Admission to the event is free, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for the local community.

ATU President Russell Jones expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming movie night, stating, “We invite everyone in the Arkansas River Valley to be part of this community gathering at Arkansas Tech. We want to bring people onto campus and share the resources that exist here with our friends and neighbors. It is my hope that events such as this will bring us closer together and demonstrate that Arkansas Tech is and wants to be a part of our community.”

“Elemental,” which was released by Disney and Pixar in 2023, is the featured film for the evening. The movie, rated PG, is set in Element City and tells the heartwarming story of the friendship between the lead characters, Ember and Wade. Notably, “Elemental” was a nominee for the 2024 Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film, adding to its appeal for movie enthusiasts of all ages.

Originally scheduled for November 2024, the event had to be postponed due to inclement weather. However, organizers are excited to finally bring this community movie night to life in April. To enhance the movie-watching experience, free popcorn and water will be available to attendees while supplies last. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and choose a spot either on the football field or the Buerkle Berm, located beyond the north end zone. Additionally, seating will be provided in the stadium bleachers for those who prefer a different vantage point.

As weekends are open parking days on the campus, all guests are welcome to park in any available spaces designated for parking. However, it is important to note that vehicles parked in areas not specifically marked for parking may be subject to towing as per the release. The event promises to be a delightful evening for families and individuals alike, offering a blend of entertainment, community engagement, and shared experiences under the starry night sky.
