Haim makes a grand reentry into the music scene with their latest single “Relationships” and an accompanying music video featuring Drew Starkey from “Outer Banks.” The iconic pop rock girl group, comprised of Este, Danielle, and Alana Haim, gives fans a taste of their forthcoming studio album, their first since 2020’s “Women in Music Pt. III.”

Produced by the renowned Rostam Batmanglij, a former member of Vampire Weekend and Danielle Haim, the song had been in the works since 2018. Alana Haim expressed their excitement for the release, sharing that it took seven years to complete the song, focusing on the complexities of relationships and the different forms they can take – from traditional relationships to “situationships.”

According to a press release, “Relationships” offers a departure from the album’s rock sound, hinting at a fresh musical direction for the group. Despite not releasing a full album in five years, Haim kept fans satisfied with singles like “Home,” featured in the 2023 film “Barbie,” along with one-off tracks like “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache” and “Lost Track.”

Looking ahead, Haim is gearing up for live performances at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in April, as well as appearances at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona and Portugal this coming June. A recent standout moment for the group was joining forces with Taylor Swift on “The Eras” tour in 2023 and headlining the All Points East Festival in London the same year.

The three sisters have built a strong following over the years, known for their tight harmonies and energetic performances. With Alana on guitar and keyboards, Danielle on lead vocals and guitar, and Este on bass, the band brings a dynamic presence to their live shows.

The music video for “Relationships” is directed by Camille Summers-Valli, offering a visual narrative to accompany the track’s thematic exploration. The inclusion of Drew Starkey adds a compelling dynamic, as he portrays Danielle’s love interest in the captivating storyline.

As Haim continues to deliver fresh and innovative music, fans eagerly anticipate the release of their upcoming album and the opportunity to experience their electrifying performances live. In an ever-evolving music landscape, Haim stands out as a powerhouse trio that deftly navigates between genres while staying true to their roots.
