Mötley Crüe is replaced at Boardwalk Rock by a major band
There has been a significant change in the lineup for the upcoming Boardwalk Rock Festival. Unfortunately, the headliner Mötley Crüe will not be able to perform as originally planned. In their place, the iconic band Alice in Chains has been added to the lineup, bringing their unique sound to the festival. This news was shared by Boardwalk Rock on their online platform on April 3.
The Boardwalk Rock Festival is a highly anticipated event that will take place in Ocean City, Maryland, on May 17-18, 2025, at the historic Boardwalk. The announcement of Mötley Crüe’s absence came with a heartfelt message from the band members, explaining that lead vocalist Vince Neil needed to undergo a medical procedure as per his doctors’ advice. The band expressed their full support for Neil’s recovery and prioritizing his health above all else. They also extended their apologies to their fans who were looking forward to their performance and thanked Alice in Chains for stepping in to fill their spot.
As for Vince Neil, the frontman of Mötley Crüe, this is not the first time he has faced health-related challenges. Over the course of his extensive career spanning four decades, Neil has undergone multiple surgeries. While the exact nature of his latest medical procedure has not been disclosed, it is clear that his well-being is the band’s top priority.
The updated lineup for the Boardwalk Rock Festival now includes rock legends Def Leppard and Alice in Chains headlining on Saturday, May 17. Joining them are other celebrated acts such as Halestorm, Bush, Chevelle, Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm, The Struts, Extreme, Everclear, Puddle of Mudd, Trapt, Kat Von D, Royale Lynn, and Mammoth WVH.
On Sunday, May 18, the stage will be set on fire by headliners Nickelback and Shinedown, along with renowned artists like Three Days Grace, Alice Cooper, 3 Doors Down, Bret Michaels, Candlebox, Night Ranger, Crossfade, Dorothy, Black Stone Cherry, Tim Montana, Fuel, Saliva, and Lit.
