The Independent extends collaboration – InPublishing
The Great Escape festival is set to kick off with an additional bonus day this year, thanks to a continued partnership between The Independent and the event. Taking place on May 14th in Brighton, the festival promises to deliver vibrant live music entertainment. The Independent will once again host The Independent Stage and showcase British rock band Skunk Anansie, giving fans a rare opportunity to see the band in an intimate club setting ahead of their upcoming UK headline tour and their album release.
Skunk Anansie, a London-born band established in 1994, has been celebrated for their unique fusion of alternative, rock, and punk genres. Lead singer Skin has labeled their distinctive sound as “clit-rock,” a blend of heavy metal and Black feminist ethos. The band’s bold lyrics and captivating performances have solidified their status as an influential group of their era.
The Great Escape festival has recently announced that over 175 new acts will be joining the lineup, bringing the total number of artists and performers to over 450. This diverse array of talent from around the globe ensures an eclectic and engaging musical experience for attendees.
In addition to hosting The Independent Stage, The Independent will provide its readership with exclusive news and coverage from the festival.
