The musical duo of Jack and Meg White are known for their minimalist approach to rock music and their distinctive visual style. Their 2001 album White Blood Cells brought them mainstream success, and their biggest hits include “Fell in Love with a Girl,” “Seven Nation Army,” “Icky Thump,” and “The Hardest Button to Button.” Despite their success, the band broke up in 2011 due to personal differences.
How do Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominations work?
Every year, a group of more than 1,000 artists, music historians, and music industry professionals vote on the nominees, with the top vote-getters being inducted into the Hall of Fame. To become eligible for nomination, an artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior. The 2025 nominations included a diverse array of musicians across different genres and eras.
“It’s really every music geek’s dream. It’s such an intensely personal honor and kind of profound that people who I don’t know personally, that I’ve never met, would want to invite me into a circle of such incredible and historic musicians,” said Cyndi Lauper about being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
As the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees celebrate their well-deserved honor, music fans can look forward to a spectacular celebration of some of the most influential and iconic performers in the history of music. Join us in congratulating all the new inductees on this prestigious achievement in recognition of their unparalleled contributions to the world of music.
