GHOST Is First Hard Rock Band in Four Years to Reach No. 1 on U.S. Album Chart
GHOST has achieved a remarkable feat by topping the U.S. Album Chart with their latest studio album, Skeletá, as reported by Billboard.com. The album amassed 86,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 77,000 units coming from traditional album sales and an impressive 44,000 units from vinyl copies sold.
This accomplishment marks a notable milestone in the hard rock genre, as Skeletá became the first hard rock album to reach the top of the Billboard 200 since AC/DC’s Power Up in 2020. The album’s outstanding vinyl sales during its debut week are record-breaking for hard rock in the modern era, dating back to 1991, ranking as the third-highest for any rock album in that period, trailing only BLINK-182’s One More Time… and BOYGENIUS’s The Record.
Released on April 25 through Loma Vista Recordings, GHOST’s Skeletá has solidified their position as trailblazers in the music industry. The band embarked on the European leg of their 2025 World Tour on April 15 in Manchester, United Kingdom, with plans to conclude the tour on May 24 in Oslo, Norway. Following their European engagements, GHOST will kick off the North American leg of their tour on July 9 in Baltimore, Maryland, culminating in a final show on August 16 in Houston, Texas.
