Ghost secures their first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart
Ghost has achieved a significant milestone by securing the top spot on the prestigious Billboard 200 album chart for the first time in the band’s history. According to Billboard, their latest studio album, Skeletá, managed to move an impressive 86,000 units, with the majority of this figure stemming from traditional album sales. Notably, vinyl sales contributed over 44,000 copies to this total, marking a remarkable feat as the “biggest week for a hard rock album on vinyl in the modern era,” since tracking began in 1991 with the advent of Luminate (formerly known as SoundScan).
This accomplishment is made even more exceptional by the fact that Ghost’s Skeletá is the first hard rock album to top the Billboard 200 chart in four years. The previous hard rock album to achieve this feat was AC/DC’s Power Up in November 2020. Currently embarking on their 2025 world tour, Ghost is set to perform their next show in Berlin on May 7 before concluding the European leg of their tour in Oslo on May 24. Following a performance by Papa V Perpetua at a special event on July 5, which features the last performance from legendary artist Ozzy Osbourne with Black Sabbath, Ghost will kick off the U.S. leg of their tour on July 9 in Baltimore.
The band’s extensive tour schedule includes various cities across the United States, with dates ranging from July to September. Among the notable stops on their itinerary are Atlanta, Boston, New York, Detroit, Las Vegas, San Diego, Phoenix, and Houston, among others. With a total of numerous performance dates lined up, Ghost’s tour promises to be a must-see event for fans of the band and hard rock enthusiasts alike.
Ghost’s rise to the top of the Billboard 200 chart and their subsequent world tour underscore the band’s enduring popularity and widespread appeal within the music industry. Their unique sound, captivating performances, and dedicated fan base have solidified their status as one of the leading acts in the hard rock genre. As Ghost continues to captivate audiences around the world with their dynamic music and theatrical live shows, their impact on the music scene is sure to endure for years to come.
