Friendship Home announces two finalists for 5th Annual River Rock Music Festival
Friendship Home is excited to reveal that TOBY. and Gracie Grace & All the Good Boys have been chosen as the two finalists in the Take the Stage competition for the 5th Annual River Rock Music Festival. These talented acts will have the opportunity to showcase their skills at Weir River Farm on Saturday, September 6.
The initiative began as a local search for musical talent but quickly gained national attention. Launched on May 1, Take the Stage encouraged members of the community to submit or recommend bands for the final performance slot at this year’s festival. The response was overwhelming, with over 75 nominations, 170 comments, and reaching over 5,000 individuals across the country, from Massachusetts to California and beyond.
Steve Lombardo, co-founder of River Rock, expressed his enthusiasm for the incredible response to Take The Stage. He mentioned, “It’s thrilling to see numerous bands competing for the final spot in this year’s River Rock Festival lineup. Selecting just one band will be a challenging task. We are impressed by the talent and passion of the performers, and we are truly thankful for the immense support from our community and the Friendship Home team.”
The selection committee faced a tough decision due to the high quality of submissions, leading to the exceptional choice of naming two finalists. TOBY., a rising star with a unique sound that transcends genres and a growing following in Boston, and Gracie Grace & All the Good Boys, known for their soulful, indie-rock vibe that has captivated audiences in New England for years, promise to bring something truly special to the River Rock stage.
The 2025 River Rock Music Festival guarantees a full day of live music, delicious local food, and community revelry against the picturesque backdrop of Weir River Farm in Hingham. Alongside the two finalists, the festival lineup will include performances by Wind, Whisky Saints, Anna Daley Young, Surfliner, and Road Soda. Festival attendees can indulge in delectable offerings from Rockin’ Burgers, Miss Emily’s Food Truck, and The Nuttiest Cookie, as well as enjoy beer, wine, and craft cocktails from The Decanted Wine Truck and Pour Garden.
