James LaBrie of Dream Theater Falls at Sweden Rock Festival
During a recent performance at the Sweden Rock Festival, James LaBrie, the renowned vocalist of progressive metal band DREAM THEATER, encountered an unexpected mishap. While singing the opening track, “Night Terror,” LaBrie slipped and fell, a moment that was captured on video by fans in attendance.
Despite the stumble, LaBrie quickly recovered and reassured the audience by raising his arm, signaling that he was unharmed and prepared to continue the show. The slip occurred early in the set, but it did not disrupt the band’s performance.
The Sweden Rock Festival appearance was part of DREAM THEATER’s 40th Anniversary European Tour, which had begun a few nights earlier in Turku, Finland. This tour is a significant milestone for the band, and fans across Europe have shown up in large numbers to commemorate the return of drummer Mike Portnoy, who rejoined the group for their latest album, Parasomnia.
The band’s momentum will continue in the United States this fall with the launch of the “An Evening With Dream Theater” tour, starting on September 5 in Reading, Pennsylvania. The North American leg of the tour will span 30 cities, including notable stops in Orlando, Detroit, Kansas City, and Providence, before concluding on October 25 in Long Island, New York.
Fans attending the tour can anticipate hearing full performances of Parasomnia, the band’s sixteenth studio album, which debuted at the top of the charts following its release on February 7, 2025, through InsideOut Music. In addition to tracks from the latest album, the band will also treat audiences to a selection of classic songs and fan favorites from their impressive four-decade-long career.
