Fresh off an unforgettable performance at the VMAs, sombr’s latest album, “I Barely Know Her,” has skyrocketed to the number one spot on the charts. Following its debut at number two, the singer-songwriter’s LP claimed the top spot on Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, dominating the September 13 rankings. This achievement marks sombr’s very first chart-topping success on the Top Rock, Top Alternative, and Top Rock Albums charts.

In its second week (August 29 – September 4), the album garnered 27,000 equivalent album units in the United States, a slight decrease from the 31,000 units it achieved during its inaugural week, as reported by Luminate. Meanwhile, Deftones’ album, “Private Music,” descended to number five after selling 22,000 units, a 75% decrease from its debut week.

The record also ascended two positions to secure the twelfth spot on the all-inclusive Billboard 200 chart, demonstrating that sombr’s initial full-length endeavor is resonating with audiences beyond the realms of rock and alternative music lovers. Composed entirely by sombr, the ten-track album showcases the artist’s talent for personal storytelling and infectious melodies.

Songs from the album are also making a splash on the charts. The lead single, “Undressed,” is at the helm of the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart for the second consecutive week, boasting 9.2 million streams in the U.S., 32.7 million radio airplay impressions, and 1,000 sales. Additionally, “Back to Friends” claims the third spot, while “12 to 12” achieves a new peak at number six.

Whether propelled by the momentum from the VMAs or fueled by fervent fan support, sombr’s “I Barely Know Her” is proving to be a record worth noting – one that is only just beginning to make its mark on the music scene.
