Progressive metal band Mastodon is currently facing some changes as they search for a permanent replacement guitarist while juggling new material and touring. However, their side project, Arcadea, is forging ahead with their upcoming album, The Exodus of Gravity, featuring Brann Dailor as the lead vocalist.

Arcadea is a unique space rock venture led by Dailor, along with core members Core Atoms and João Nogueira, known for their fusion of synth elements and groovy beats that aim to evoke emotional responses in their audience. The trio recently released the first single and music video from the new album, titled “Fuzzy Planet”, offering a surprising departure from the expected stoner metal sound with a more upbeat and danceable vibe.

Core Atoms describes the track as capturing the initial euphoria of falling in love, symbolized by a transformative experience. Dailor, who seamlessly transitions into his new role as a lead vocalist, mentions that the song aims to inject a sense of joy and energy into the project’s prog-rock style, focusing on a more danceable and vibrant sound to differentiate Arcadea from Mastodon’s metal-oriented tunes.

Scheduled for release on August 22, The Exodus of Gravity features a diverse tracklist including songs like “Dark Star”, “Lake of Rust”, and “The Hand That Holds the Milky Way”. Fans can pre-order the album now to secure their copy and explore Arcadea’s experimental soundscapes ranging from atmospheric ballads to energetic anthems.

With Brann Dailor’s dynamic vocals and the band’s innovative approach to synth-rock, Arcadea’s latest offering promises a fresh musical experience that blends elements of space rock, electronica, and progressive metal in a cohesive and engaging manner. As the band continues to evolve and push boundaries with their sonic experiments, listeners can expect a captivating journey through the cosmic landscape of Arcadea’s vibrant and imaginative music.
