Wet Leg, the budding stars of post-punk, are making waves in the music scene with their recent success. Following a standout performance at the illustrious Glastonbury festival in 2025, where lead singer Rhian Teasdale made a memorable appearance with an Antifreeze Green acrylic-bodied B.C. Rich Mockingbird guitar, the band is rapidly gaining popularity on both sides of the Atlantic. The show marked a significant moment in their journey, signaling their growing prominence in the industry.

Their latest album, “Moisturizer,” set to be released this week, has already seen three singles from the record garner over 10 million Spotify streams collectively. Wet Leg is emerging as a beacon of hope for post-punk and indie-rock enthusiasts, capturing the attention of music lovers worldwide.

Initially formed in 2019 by Teasdale and Hester Chambers during their college days on the Isle of Wight, a quaint island south of England, the band quickly attracted a loyal following. By 2021, they had signed with Domino Records, a prestigious label known for promoting artists like Arctic Monkeys and My Bloody Valentine. Their debut single, “Chaise Lounge,” released in 2021, became an instant hit, amassing millions of streams and propelling them into the limelight.

In 2022, the band reached new heights when music icon Dave Grohl joined them on stage at Coachella, showcasing his vocal prowess during a dynamic performance of their single “Ur Mum.” Last summer, the band embarked on a tour of U.K. stadiums with Grohl’s band, the Foo Fighters. Wet Leg has expanded its lineup to include talented musicians such as bassist/vocalist Ellis Durand, rhythm guitarist Josh Mobaraki, and drummer Henry Holmes, enhancing the group’s live performances.

Teasdale and Chambers, the driving forces behind the band, have an impressive array of gear choices. Teasdale, who recently acquired the eye-catching Mockingbird guitar, had previously favored a Fender Noventa Telecaster. Chambers, on the other hand, showcased a unique Hofner HCT Galaxie during a Jools Holland performance in 2022. Her diverse guitar collection also features a white triple-humbucker Kramer Jersey Star and a Noventa Jazzmaster.

A remarkable aspect of the band’s journey is Chambers’ limited experience with electric guitars before Wet Leg’s inception. In a surprising revelation, Hester disclosed that Teasdale, despite her piano skills, had never played guitar before joining the band. This revelation highlights Teasdale’s natural talent and songwriting abilities, demonstrating her versatility as a musician.

Wet Leg’s meteoric rise in the music industry underscores their ambition to leave a lasting impact and cement their status as guitar heroes. With their infectious energy, distinctive sound, and captivating performances, Wet Leg is poised to conquer the music scene and inspire a new generation of music lovers.
