Shocking video footage captures the moment two illegal migrants, suspected of shooting an off-duty CBP officer, arrived at a New York City hospital just after the ambush. In the video, one of the suspects, identified as Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, 21, is seen struggling to exit a scooter while his accomplice quickly rides off. The Homeland Security X account shared a 23-second clip of the incident, showing one suspect abandoning the injured Nunez at the hospital before fleeing.

Authorities stated that these individuals will face the full consequences of the U.S. Justice System. Nunez was apprehended at the hospital, while his alleged partner, Christhian Aybar-Berroa, 22, was captured two days later.

The pair reportedly rode together to Fort Washington Park in Manhattan, where they encountered the 42-year-old federal agent and his female companion. A confrontation ensued, leading to one of the suspects shooting the agent in the face and arm. The agent retaliated by firing several shots, hitting Nunez three times.

Surveillance footage released by DHS captured the dramatic encounter. NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny mentioned that the CBP officer’s life was saved by nearby police officers who were responding to a separate incident in the area.

The suspects are also believed to have stolen a woman’s cellphone just five minutes before the shootout took place. The federal agent, who remains unidentified, underwent surgery and was in recovery as of Monday.

The incident highlights the dangers posed by illegal migrants and underscores the importance of border security. The swift arrest of the suspects demonstrates the commitment of law enforcement agencies to bring perpetrators to justice.

This incident serves as a reminder of the risks faced by law enforcement officers in the line of duty and the need for vigilance in protecting our borders. The resilience and bravery exhibited by the CBP officer in defending himself against the attackers reflect the dedication and courage of those who serve in law enforcement.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working diligently to ensure that those responsible for this senseless act of violence are held accountable for their actions. The apprehension of the suspects sends a clear message that such criminal behavior will not be tolerated, and all efforts will be made to bring those responsible to justice.
