Sprints Drop TWO Fresh Singles, ‘Rage’ and ‘Beg,’ Announce Instore Appearances
Sprints have surprised fans with not one but two new singles, ‘Rage’ and ‘Beg’, ahead of their upcoming album release, ‘All That Is Over’ on September 26th through City Slang (Worldwide) and Sub Pop (North America). Following a powerful performance at Glastonbury, Sprints are gearing up for supporting Fontaines D.C. and have announced a series of in-store appearances around the album launch.
Their latest album marks a significant progression from their previous acclaimed work, showcasing a more ambitious and stadium-ready sound that is sure to solidify their position as the breakthrough band of 2025. Lead vocalist and guitarist Karla Chubb shared insights into the inspiration behind the new singles. She described ‘Rage’ as a reflection on the prevalent anger in today’s society and the need to channel it into positive change, rather than letting it consume us. Drawing influence from bands like Dandy Warhols and Viagra Boys, the track encapsulates a chaotic energy reminiscent of a desert storm.
‘Beg’ touches on recurring themes explored throughout the album and delves into deeper motifs such as self-exploration, sexuality, ambition, and personal growth. Inspired by a line from a Vladimir Holan poem, the track playfully challenges societal norms and power dynamics, emphasizing the hypocrisy often observed in those in positions of authority. Chubb’s introspective lyrics invite listeners to reflect on their own shortcomings and the perpetual quest for self-improvement.
The accompanying music videos, directed by David Willis, aim to challenge stereotypes and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights by featuring drag queens Kiki Cult and Hansun Lamb in unconventional roles. By subverting traditional expectations and portraying drag queens as boisterous individuals on a night out, Sprints seek to promote inclusivity and celebration of diverse identities in their visual storytelling.
Sprints’ tour schedule includes several upcoming dates across the UK, Germany, France, Luxembourg, and Austria, promising electrifying live performances that capture the raw energy and urgency of their music. With their innovative sound and thought-provoking lyrics, Sprints are poised to make a lasting impact on the music scene and captivate audiences worldwide.
