Everclear plans Australian tour to celebrate 30th anniversary of ‘Sparkle and Fade’ album.
Celebrating three decades since the release of their iconic album “Sparkle and Fade,” Everclear is embarking on a 30th-anniversary Australian tour from November 21 to December 13. The band, led by Art Alexakis, is set to perform 16 shows across Australia, kicking off at Newcastle’s Bar on the Hill and concluding at Adelaide’s The Gov.
Art Alexakis expressed the significance of “Sparkle and Fade” in a recent press release, stating that it was the album he had always envisioned creating. The album not only propelled Everclear into the limelight but also marked a turning point in their career. The setlist for the tour will feature fan favorites like the hit single “Santa Monica” along with other beloved tracks.
Upon its release in 1996, “Sparkle and Fade” achieved RIAA Platinum certification, selling over a million copies worldwide. Tracks such as “Heroin Girl,” “Heartspark Dollarsign,” and “Santa Monica” contributed to the album’s immense success. Despite facing a multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2019, Alexakis remains committed to creating music and performing live, showcasing his resilience and passion for the art.
In an effort to support musicians in need, a portion of the ticket sales from the tour will be donated to the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and the National MS Society. Everclear’s current lineup features Art Alexakis on vocals and guitar, Davey French on guitar, Freddy Herrera on bass, and Brian Nolan on drums, ensuring fans will experience the band’s signature sound and energy on stage.
