Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails Exchange Drummers in Las Vegas – X1075
In a surprising turn of events in the world of drummers in 2025, the Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails have exchanged drummers. Reports from The Hollywood Reporter and Variety reveal that Ilan Rubin has joined the Foo Fighters as their new drummer. Rubin, known for his role as the touring drummer for Nine Inch Nails since 2009, was also part of the band’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
Meanwhile, Josh Freese, who had been drumming for the Foo Fighters for the past two years, has now taken over the drumming duties for Nine Inch Nails. Freese made headlines earlier in May when he was unexpectedly released from his position with the Foo Fighters.
Despite recent developments, the Foo Fighters have maintained a relatively low profile, partly due to some awkward reasons. However, they are scheduled to perform a series of shows in October and November, with an upcoming performance at the Singapore Grand Prix on October 4. On the other hand, Nine Inch Nails is currently on a short break during their “Peel It Back Tour 2025”, which is set to resume on August 6 in Oakland, California.
