Chevelle starts U.S. tour ahead of August album release
Chevelle is gearing up to release their highly anticipated new album, “Bright as Blasphemy,” which is set to hit stores on August 15. The band is preparing to embark on a U.S. tour to promote the album, with Asking Alexandria and Dead Poet Society joining them on the road.
In a recent interview, Pete Loeffler expressed his excitement about hitting the road again, stating, “I can’t wait to get on the road again. We have a whole new stage look that we’re gonna do, new production.” The new album, a nine-song collection, features “Rabbit Hole (Cowards, Pt. 1)” as its first single, and the band has selected four new songs to debut live during the tour.
Choosing which songs to include in their setlist each night presents its own challenges. Loeffler mentioned, “I do feel like that might be too many to throw in one set list right out of the gate. You’re gonna have a handful of people that wanna hear the new stuff, and then a handful of people that only wanna hear the hits. So you gotta balance.” To navigate this, the band experiments with different combinations of songs each night, taking cues from audience reactions.
Loeffler also shared that he seeks advice from other musicians on how to handle the balance between playing new material and fan-favorite hits. “It’s one of my favorite things to ask other bands that have been around: ‘How do you guys do it?'” he said. This dynamic approach ensures that fans at each show experience a unique setlist tailored to the specific crowd energy of the night.
The tour kicks off this week, with both Asking Alexandria and Dead Poet Society set to perform at every stop on the tour across the country. Fans can secure tickets for the upcoming shows through Chevelle’s official website.
As the band prepares to showcase a mix of their classic hits and brand-new music, concert attendees can expect an electrifying performance filled with an exciting blend of nostalgia and fresh sounds. By observing audience responses and constantly switching up their song choices, Chevelle aims to deliver a dynamic and unforgettable experience for their fans at every tour stop.
