Cheap Trick has released their latest single “Twelve Gates” as a preview of their upcoming 21st studio album, “All Washed Up,” which is scheduled for release on November 14, 2025, through BMG. The album will be available digitally, on CD, standard black vinyl, and as a special limited-edition “Orange Marble” LP with only 1,000 copies available exclusively through the band’s D2C store.
Bassist Tom Petersson expressed his admiration for “Twelve Gates,” calling it one of his favorite tracks on the upcoming album, while vocalist Robin Zander described the record as yet another fantastic addition from “the best rock band in the world.” The album, produced by the band in collaboration with Julian Raymond and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, was recorded over the course of 2024 in Nashville and Los Angeles.
The “All Washed Up” tracklist includes a mix of new songs, such as “All Washed Up,” “The Riff That Won’t Quit,” “Love Gone,” and more. Additionally, Cheap Trick will be hitting the road with their “Wham Boom Bang Tour Dates 2025,” which will feature stops in various locations such as Rhinebeck, NY, Salem, OR, Osaka, JP, and numerous others. The tour will extend into December, culminating with shows in Omaha, NE, Green Bay, WI, and Madison, WI.
Formed in Rockford, Illinois in 1973, Cheap Trick seamlessly blended British Invasion pop melodies with American hard rock punch. The iconic lineup of Robin Zander, Rick Nielsen, Tom Petersson, and Bun E. Carlos became synonymous with the late ’70s music scene. Their breakthrough moment arrived with the release of “Cheap Trick at Budokan” in 1979, which featured the hit singles “I Want You To Want Me” and “Surrender.” Throughout the 1980s, the band continued to dominate the charts, achieving a No. 1 hit in 1988 with “The Flame” from their album “Lap of Luxury.”
Cheap Trick’s reputation as a chart-topping band and an electrifying live act has endured into the 21st century, leading to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016. With a discography that includes classic albums like “Dream Police,” “Heaven Tonight,” and “In Color,” Cheap Trick’s legacy in the rock music industry remains unparalleled.
