On September 5, Eau Claire natives, The Jaggernauts, are gearing up for the release of their fifth album, titled “Taste The Jaggernauts.” This latest record pays tribute to former band member John Buxton and will be commemorated with a release show at The Mousetrap Tavern on the same day.

With this upcoming release, The Jaggernauts are marking a significant milestone in their history, entering what they are calling “Mark 6” with band members Noel Hanson, Matt Florence, Jodi Hanson, Atom, Dave Schoenrock, Joe Gunderson, and Chris Ramey in tow. Since their inception in 2004, the band has been known for their unique “horror-punk” sound, blending elements of rock and alternative genres with sci-fi aesthetics, creating a distinct atmosphere with each album they produce.

The band’s previous releases have been characterized by their genre-bending approach, eschewing traditional labels in favor of creating a mood and aesthetic that is unparalleled in the music scene. The forthcoming nine-track album, “Taste The Jaggernauts,” promises to stay true to this ethos, offering fans a deeper look into the band’s creative process and thematic elements.

Described by the group as their “vampire record,” the album is set to explore themes of horror and the supernatural, as reflected in the title track, “Taste the Blood.” Guitarist Adam Luchsinger shared that the band always finds ways to incorporate their love of horror into their music, with guitarist and vocalist Matt Florence adding that the original title, “Taste The Blood of The Jaggernauts,” was eventually shortened for a more humorous and lighthearted tone.

With a history steeped in musical experimentation and a commitment to creating a unique sound that defies categorization, The Jaggernauts are poised to captivate audiences once again with their latest offering. Fans can catch them live at The Mousetrap Tavern on September 5 for an unforgettable album release show celebrating the group’s evolution and continued dedication to their craft.
