up is another story, with Gilmour admitting he is not always keen on hitting the road. “I never wanted to be a person who traveled and traveled and traveled, and I’m not really that keen on touring,” he said to Guitar Player. “But I wanted to do some shows and we did some shows.”He wasn’t able to invite any Pink Floyd members into the fold for the Luck and Strange shows, but he did find new bandmates with talents to persist in interesting ways – notably including breakout female guitarist and vocalist Romany Gilmour. “In the end, we had a really, really cool team and, even though it’s nothing to do with Pink Floyd, I thought it was really nice,” David said. “I really wanted to show what Romany could do.”Gilmour has other musical engagements afoot, even if none are centered around the writing of a new album. He’s featured on To the Bone, the most recent solo album from Steven Wilson, who produced Pink Floyd’s final album, The Endless River, and has hinted at a collaboration with Jakszyk and King Crimson – two projects that will be much more surprising for fans used to the polished guitar textures of Gilmour’s solo and Floyd work.
