Celebrating its 40th anniversary this fall in Minneapolis is the annual Farm Aid event, led by founder Willie Nelson. The inspiration behind Farm Aid stemmed from Bob Dylan’s remarks at Live Aid, a concert for starving people in Africa. This daylong event will feature performances by Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds, Kenny Chesney, and many more, including Minnesota’s own Trampled by Turtles. The event starts at noon on September 20 at Huntington Bank Stadium.

Jon Batiste, known for his role as the bandleader on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show, has emerged as a seven-time Grammy-winning artist. His musical talent is showcased in his latest release, “Big Money,” featuring tracks like the festive bluesy title song and a duet with Randy Newman. Fans can catch him at the Palace Theatre on September 27.

After a hiatus during the pandemic, Lorde is back on the road with her fourth album, “Virgin.” At 28, she continues to captivate audiences with her electro-pop sound, performing in arenas across the U.S. Her two-night stand at the Armory in Minneapolis on October 11 and 12 will be a must-see event.

Lastly, Alan Sparhawk and Trampled by Turtles, both hailing from the Duluth music scene, join forces for a special performance at the Fitzgerald Theater on December 11. Their collaboration on “With Trampled by Turtles” showcases their musical chemistry and talent.
