Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra unveils new season with Dolly Parton’s Threads

The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra is opening the 2025–26 season with an innovative program paying tribute to the musical icon Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton, recently named a Guinness World Record ICON for her extraordinary contributions to music and culture during her legendary six-decade career, will be featured in the Printing Partners Pops Series concerts (Sept. 19 – 20, 2025, Hilbert Circle Theatre, Indianapolis). Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly will lead the ISO alongside guest vocalists chosen by Dolly Parton herself.

This groundbreaking symphonic experience will showcase fresh renditions of Dolly’s classic hits like “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “I Will Always Love You,” immersing the audience in Dolly’s music and life through personal stories shared by the artist on screen. The concert, energized by the ISO, features powerhouse vocalists Katelyn Drye, Hollie Hammel, and Julie Williams breathing new life into Dolly’s songs. Dolly herself expressed her excitement about the project, stating that the threads of her life are intertwined with her songs, making this endeavor particularly special.

Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly expressed the ISO’s enthusiasm for celebrating Dolly Parton’s remarkable musical legacy through this unique symphonic experience. The Hilbert Circle Theatre will host the events where Dolly’s selected singers will embark on a musical journey through the timeless hits of a legendary artist adored by millions worldwide.

Produced in collaboration with Schirmer Theatrical and Sony Music Publishing, Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony promises a fascinating exploration of Dolly’s musical journey. The concert dates are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 19, 2025, and 7:30 p.m. on September 20, 2025, at the Hilbert Circle Theatre in Indianapolis.

Dolly Parton, a musical icon whose recent achievements include induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, released her groundbreaking album “Rockstar,” setting new records in her unprecedented seven-decade career.
