Aerosmith and Yungblud surprised fans with the announcement of their new collaborative single, “My Only Angel.” This exciting news comes following their joint tribute to the legendary Ozzy Osbourne at the MTV Video Music Awards. The stellar performance took place at the UBS Arena in New York, where Aerosmith played their final show before canceling their tour. Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt kicked off the tribute with Ozzy’s classic hit “Crazy Train,” followed by “Changes,” a song Yungblud previously performed at Black Sabbath and Ozzy’s farewell show. Black Sabbath and Ozzy keyboardist Adam Wakeman also graced the stage.

The performance, described as unforgettable, showcased the seamless collaboration between Aerosmith and Yungblud. Following the tribute, a clip circulated showing Steven Tyler and Yungblud embracing, hinting at a forthcoming surprise. This mystery was revealed as the announcement of their new single, “My Only Angel.” The track was inspired by their recent performance at the VMAs and is currently available for pre-saving.

Steven Tyler’s return to the stage has been met with excitement and appreciation from fans. Aerosmith had previously embarked on their Peace Out Tour in 2023, a final farewell to their North American fans. However, the tour faced setbacks when Steven Tyler suffered a fractured larynx during a show, prompting the band to postpone and eventually cancel their remaining tour dates in 2024. Despite this, Aerosmith’s guitarists Joe Perry and Brad Whitford reunited for a series of shows under the Joe Perry Project moniker.

Meanwhile, Yungblud is currently on tour in the United States in support of his latest album, IDOLS. This record is the first part of a double album and delves into the themes of hero-worship and self-identity. Yungblud’s introspective lyrics explore how individuals often seek validation from external sources, neglecting their own experiences. The album aims to challenge listeners to reclaim their self-worth and embrace change, addressing the pressures of comparison and self-doubt in modern society.

Aerosmith’s illustrious career spans over five decades, resulting in 12 multi-platinum certified albums and numerous accolades, including four GRAMMY® Awards and inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With over 150 million records sold worldwide, Aerosmith remains the best-selling American rock band. Their enduring legacy continues to influence and inspire music lovers across generations, solidifying their status as rock icons.
