Brendan Walter to Release ‘Disappearing Days’ in November
Brendan Walter is preparing to unveil his first-ever album, Disappearing Days, which is set to drop on November 7th through RECORDS/Sony Music Nashville. The emerging artist has also offered a sneak peek with the release of the title track from the upcoming record.
Drawing inspiration from personal experiences, the energetic and anthemic title track captures the essence of navigating the complexities of early adulthood that serves as the common thread running through Walter’s debut project. He collaborated with Grady Smith and Gary Stanton to intentionally create the title track for the album, aiming to encapsulate the sensation of entering adulthood while feeling slightly behind. This sentiment resonates deeply with Walter, reflecting his own reality over the past few years. The reflective punk country vibe of the track aims to reassure those who may feel adrift in life that they are not alone.
With a blend of Texas country, folk, and turn-of-the-millennium alt-rock influences, Walter’s new album delves into the tumultuous journey of early adulthood, delving into themes such as heartbreak, nostalgia, the passage of time, pursuing dreams, and more. Growing up in Dallas exposed to a mix of Mumford & Sons, Van Halen, and Tyler Childers, Walter learned the values of discipline, accomplishment, and resilience through his lifelong devotion to hockey. Even during his college days, Walter began showcasing his talents through cover videos.
Turning away from a finance internship during his junior year, Walter took a leap of faith by moving to Austin to hone his live performance skills. This eventually led him to audition for American Idol before relocating to Nashville and subsequently dropping his well-received 2024 EP, ‘I Don’t Know What I’m Doing Yet’. Following the success of the hit collaboration track “If a Song Could Change Your Mind” with Low Gap, which has garnered over a million streams, Walter is currently gearing up for the release of Disappearing Days.
Reflecting on his unconventional journey in life, Walter shares that transitioning from being a 21-year-old freshman to graduating at 25 before ultimately deciding to pursue music has been both thrilling and daunting. The album encapsulates every significant aspect of his life, touching on themes such as growing up, leaving home, falling in love, heartache, and the roller coaster of experiences that life presents. The album was crafted last year when Walter made the pivotal move to Nashville, pouring his heart and soul into creating this debut project to share with his audience.
