Newly released video footage captures the former NFL quarterback turned FOX Sports broadcaster, Mark Sanchez, displaying erratic and stumbling behavior on the streets of Indianapolis before the altercation with Perry Tole, a 69-year-old grease truck driver who allegedly stabbed Sanchez last weekend, as reported by TMZ Sports.

In the video, 38-year-old Sanchez can be seen meandering the area seemingly intoxicated, retracing his steps, leaning against a wall, and sporadically breaking into short bursts of jogging in the lead-up to the clash with Tole around 12:30 a.m. last Saturday. Tole was observed maneuvering his truck into the alley at approximately 12:05 a.m., with Sanchez unsteadily emerging from the alley at 12:12 a.m.

Observations of Sanchez pacing on the sidewalk adjacent to the alley before turning back 90 seconds later were followed by his slow walk down the street out of view from the camera. Subsequently, he returned and leaned against the wall at the entrance of the alley about six minutes later.

An interaction with a bystander was captured before the individual walked away, prompting Sanchez, the former quarterback, to head into the alley towards the loading dock where Tole’s truck was stationed. Sanchez hesitated behind a dumpster before suddenly breaking into a jog towards the truck and beyond the camera’s range at 12:25 a.m.

The footage transitions to a moment where Sanchez is seen clutching his chest after being stabbed by Tole, who authorities reported was acting in self-defense during a violent confrontation. A lawsuit seeking damages for the attack named Tole and his employer, FOX Sports, as defendants.

According to claims in the lawsuit, the incident unfolded as Sanchez, appearing “intoxicated,” initiated a confrontation with Tole in a loading bay within the alley. Tole is said to have sustained “significant injuries to his head, jaw, and neck” during the scuffle, including being slammed to the ground by Sanchez.

Law enforcement revealed that Sanchez had turned Tole’s own knife against him, resulting in the elderly man being stabbed through the cheek and having his tongue injured. The legal action further alleges that FOX Sports should have been aware of Sanchez’s alleged unfitness, propensity for drinking, and potentially harmful behavior before the reported altercation took place.
