Hunt in first place, McCracken in third after day one of KHSAA State Boys Golf Tournament

The KHSAA State Boys Golf Tournament kicked off on Friday afternoon in Bowling Green, Kentucky, with McCracken County senior Landon Hunt taking the lead after shooting an impressive 4-under 68 on the first day. Hunt’s stellar performance included 7 birdies and 3 bogeys, putting him one shot ahead of his competitors.

Following closely behind in second place is South Oldham’s Colton Woosley, who shot a 69 on the opening day. Three other Local 6 golfers, Murray’s Ian Dahnke, McCracken County’s Evan Hack, and Marshall County’s Paxton Carter, finished the day tied for 16th place after shooting +3.

In the team competition, McCracken County currently holds the third spot at +11, trailing the leaders, St. Xavier, by 9 shots. Marshall County is in sixth place at +22. The final round of the tournament is set to commence on Saturday morning at the Bowling Green Country Club, where participants and teams will have the opportunity to make their final push for the top spots.
