Online Prepares for Halloween Festivities – Get Creative
The creative workshop at Sykkylven Library was abuzz with colorful characters and slightly spooky tote bags during the autumn half-term. Children’s imaginations ran wild as they sat at the tables, surrounded by a plethora of craft materials to choose from. The library manager, Helen Seth, expressed delight over the high turnout that day, with 45 children passing through the doors, partaking in a variety of activities. This included a creative workshop, film screenings, board games, and even a robot day.
One highlight of the workshop was the fabric tote bags, a special favorite among the young creators. The library had received sponsorship from the county library for materials specifically for the workshop, in addition to the local stash. Helen Seth mentioned that the tote bags were a massive hit, as they had to keep restocking them due to popular demand. In particular, nine-year-old Oline Fet proudly displayed her Halloween-themed tote bag, eager to use it for collecting sweets come Halloween.
Among the children was Tuva Grebstad Løkset, deep in concentration as she adorned her character with hair. Even with both arms in plaster, nine-year-old Isabel Aure Fallingen managed to decorate her tote bag expertly. It was heartwarming to witness children like Signy Brunstad Schjønhaug, Signe Urtegård Lade, and Amanda Lade Dyb engaging in vibrant artistic expressions.
Library manager Helen Seth noted the preschool atmosphere, brimming with creativity and the joy of making unique creations. The children’s enthusiasm shone through as they worked on their projects, with smiling faces and focused expressions. The spirit of Halloween was in the air as the youngsters prepared for the upcoming holiday.
The creative days at Sykkylven Library were a testament to the boundless imagination of children and the joy they find in artistic expression. As the community came together for a series of engaging activities, the children reveled in the opportunity to create, learn, and have fun. The library served as a hub of creativity, where young minds flourished and colorful characters came to life through artistry and imagination, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated.
