Buffalo and Niagara Falls airports to exclude new Department of Homeland Security video
A new video featuring Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem pointing blame at Democrats for the government shutdown and issues with TSA lines will not be shown at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport or the Niagara Falls International Airport.
At least five major airports have opted against airing Noem’s message due to its political nature.
In the video, Noem asserts, “Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government, and because of this, many of our operations are impacted, and most of our TSA employees are working without pay.”
The NFTA, which oversees operations at both airports, confirmed that they will not be airing the video.
“The NFTA’s longstanding policy and regulations that govern public service advertising prohibit politically partisan messaging in its facilities,” stated an NFTA spokesperson. “Therefore, we are not airing this video on airport-controlled screens.”
It is evident that political messaging is not welcome in these public spaces according to the NFTA.
Despite the exclusion of the video at Buffalo and Niagara Falls airports, it is currently playing at numerous other airports across the country, with the hope that Democrats will realize the significance of funding the government to avoid any further inconveniences for the public.
