Miles Kane debuts new album ‘Sunlight In The Shadows’
Miles Kane has unveiled his latest album, “Sunlight In The Shadows,” marking his sixth studio release on Easy Eye Sound. Kane recently concluded a series of captivating solo in-store performances, setting the stage for his new record. The title track’s music video, directed by James Slater, encapsulates the glam rock essence of the album, featuring Kane exuding confidence in leopard print. Reflecting on the song, Kane shared its meaning, stating that “Sunlight In The Shadows” embodies the idea of discovering light in life’s darkest moments.
Under the production of Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys, the album encapsulates a blend of psychedelic-infused rock ‘n’ roll across 12 tracks. With a fusion of screeching guitars, infectious hooks, and Miles’s signature rippled tremolo guitar, the record bridges energetic rock anthems with mellow crooning tunes, offering a unique listening experience. Kane describes the album as the culmination of a 20-year journey, emphasizing the shared musical interests between him and Auerbach, which echo through the record’s sound. Expressing excitement about taking the album on the road, Kane emphasized the immersive experience that “Sunlight In The Shadows” offers when performed live.
Throughout the album’s creation, Kane collaborated with a talented lineup of musicians, including songwriters Pat McLaughlin and Daniel Tashian and The Black Keys’ drummer, Patrick Carney. Auerbach not only contributed backing vocals but also played on every track, forming a robust guitar ensemble alongside Tom Bukovac, Nick Bockrath from Cage The Elephant, and Barrie Cadogan of Little Barrie. Kane’s recent performances with The Black Keys and at TRNSMT, along with intimate solo shows, have set the stage for an upcoming headline tour in 2026. Fans can anticipate the announcement of tour dates soon, promising an electrifying live rendition of “Sunlight In The Shadows.”
