As of March 7, 2026, The Exceptional Foundation’s signature fundraising event will be relocating to a new venue. The Chili Cook-Off, with its rich history in Homewood, will now find its home at The Urban Center at Liberty Park for its 22nd year.

The decision to make the move to Liberty Park was carefully considered and embraced as a positive change by the organizing team. Liberty Park’s convenient location just off Interstate 459, coupled with The Urban Center’s picturesque and versatile setting, establish it as the ideal venue for an event of the Chili Cook-Off’s caliber. This transition opens up the opportunity to introduce the beloved tradition to a broader audience within the community.

President of The Exceptional Foundation, Sara Newell expressed her enthusiasm for the move, acknowledging the more than two decades of warm support and memorable moments in Homewood.
