Maddisun drops a fresh album titled The Pages in Cranbrook, East Kootenay

Breakout Canadian artist Maddisun is celebrating the digital release of her latest album, “The Pages,” which became available on all streaming platforms on October 2. This album marks Maddisun’s third release, following the successful launch of two lead-in singles, “The Pages” and “Pumpkin Pie.” Prior to its digital release, an EP titled “The Pages (Chapter 1)” gave fans a taste of the first half of the album, while a physical release occurred in July.

The release strategy for “The Pages” is as ambitious as its content, reflecting the album’s soulful and introspective nature. Maddisun’s unique approach to this album transforms it into a personal musical diary comprised of 12 tracks. All songs are penned by Maddisun, with production credits going to Julian Bueckert for 10 tracks, Ian Docherty for one, and Jim Bryson for another. Drawing inspiration from a variety of genres like vintage folk, rock ‘n’ roll, Southern Rock, and Americana, Maddisun cites musical influences such as Sheryl Crow, Maggie Rogers, Alanis Morissette, Fleetwood Mac, and Tom Petty.

In describing her vision for “The Pages,” Maddisun stated, “I wanted ‘The Pages’ to feel like opening an intimate journal.” Each song serves as a chapter in Maddisun’s life story, tackling themes of love, loss, growth, resilience, and self-discovery. By authentically expressing herself through music, Maddisun captures moments and emotions, transforming them into art that resonates with listeners. The overarching message of “The Pages” is about finding beauty in life’s challenges and connecting with others through shared experiences.

Maddisun’s musical journey has taken her across Canada, Ireland, and Los Angeles, leading to the creation of two previous albums and over 10 singles. Her impressive resume includes more than 500 live performances, appearances at prestigious showcases like NXNE and Folk Alliance International, and a sync deal with Hook & Co. Additionally, Maddisun has received endorsements from renowned guitar brands like Aria Guitars Japan, Godin Guitars, and Yamaha Canada.

With “The Pages,” Maddisun delivers her most personal and introspective work to date, reflecting the culmination of her artistic evolution. The album is now available on all major streaming platforms, with physical copies accessible through Maddisun’s official website. Accompanying the release is a music video for the track “Big Star,” which premiered on October 17.

To promote the album, Maddisun recently performed at a release show in Toronto and is gearing up for a hometown performance in Cranbrook on October 25 at the Key City Theatre. Special guests Lord Knows will be joining her for this event.
